What does it cost to run a Hot Tub
Spa?...
Calculating an
exact figure for the cost of running your spa is not
a simple procedure as there are a number of
variables to consider. These include:
The cost of local electricity.
The size of the hot tub and its capacity.
How long the hot tub remains uncovered.
The temperature of the water that you use to fill
your hot tub.
The temperature at which you operate your hot tub.
The ambient air temperature.

Why is it cheaper to run a Trueform Spa?...
The good news
is that once you have heated one of our hot tubs to
the desired temperature, the running costs are
extremely low. This is because the insulation
properties of Trueform spas are exceptional; even
our spa covers are made from a polymer that has an
extremely high insulation coefficient. Once your hot
tub reaches the chosen operating temperature it
automatically maintains it and, providing that the
spa cover remains on when the spa is not in use,
only a minimal amount of electricity is required to
do this.
Most households will enjoy their hot tub, on
average, 4 times per week, with a session normally
lasting around 30 to 40 minutes. During a typical
bathing session, the water temperature will only
drop by a couple of degrees and so it does not
require much electrical energy to compensate for
this loss. Obviously if the hot tub is located
outdoors the ambient temperature will tend to vary
more according to the season; you will typically use
more energy to reheat your Trueform hot tub in
colder climates and less energy in warmer ones.
